Assist247 was founded as DriveSafe South Africa in 1992, when South Africa’s only real option for emergency roadside assistance was the Automobile Association. After recognising a significant gap in the market, we launched DriveSafe with a simple goal: to offer South Africans a viable alternative to the AA. What started as a small project steadily evolved into South Africa’s most respected platform for trusted Service Providers.

The breakthrough occurred after a partnership with industry pioneers such as Aegis Insurance and International SOS Assistance. This collaboration laid the groundwork for many initiatives, including Delta Assist, Audi Assist, Vodacom 147, and McCarthy Assist, names that helped define a new era of corporate vehicle and home support services.

By 2003, in partnership with Media24, our platform transformed into Assist247, a name now synonymous with dependable, vetted service providers across South Africa. From assistance with panel beating and mechanical repairs to plumbers, locksmiths, towing operators, and more, our directory has become the cornerstone of service delivery for leading insurance companies, call centres, brokers, motor dealerships, and everyday South Africans alike.
